  • What safety measures does Level Ground, Inc. use to protect mentors?
    Level Ground mentors are introduced by first name only, and your personal information is not revealed. When mentees are released from prison each mentor is provided with a Level Ground cell phone so that their mentee can contact them without breaching personal identity security.  back to top

  • Is there an age requirement to be a mentor?
    Yes, mentors must be at least 25 years old.  back to top

  • Do I need training to be a mentor?
    Yes. There is an extensive training program provided by Level Ground, required before becoming a mentor.  back to top

  • For how long would I mentor?
    Typically, mentoring lasts up to one year. Occasionally by mutual agreement the mentoring relationship may extend beyond one year.  back to top

  • What if the relationship doesn't work out? The chemistry is off.
    This is a voluntary program, and either the mentor or the client or both can determine the relationship should end. There is a simple process to determine when this is best.  back to top

  • How do I choose a mentee?
    Mentees are assigned as requests are received. We practice only same gender mentoring.  back to top
